Skills Workshops
Workshops are run on the third Wednesday of each month. The programme is managed by Gail Girvan and is usually led by Simon Lutter; other members, such as Martyn Pearse, John Prentice and George Sainsbury, act as leaders when the occasion arises. The workshops are for members who wish to increase their awareness of not only their hardware, but also the techniques to be employed to get the best out of photography.
Basic Introduction to photography.
Identification of attendees current levels/skills. Attendees expectations and what they wish to know from the workshop.
How a camera works, types of camera. How a lens works, types of lenses.
Language of Photography (terminology).
How to hold a camera and lens. Taking care of the camera and lens.
Basic functions of a camera/memory cards/batteries/flash etc.
Camera parts and controls, and accessories.
Basic composition through the viewfinder and practical photo-shoot and evaluation of images.
