Prior to leaving the conference room to put into practice what had been talked about, there was time for some one to one interaction on the more technical aspects of photography :- " You want me to put that Where ! "

Thereafter it was out into the car park to practice alteration to White Balance and the Rule of Thirds in rapidly fading light, when unsuspecting guests of the hotel found themselves the subject matter of probing lenses :

Photographic Development Group

A small group which meets once a month, on a different date to the usual monthly meeting, in which members can increase their awareness of not only their hardware, but also the techniques to be employed to get the best our of photography.

The course normally runs over six sessions, and whilst starting off very much dealing with the basics, does progress through the various levels . Below is an indication of the first weeks Agenda :

Week 1 - Basic Introduction to photography.

Identification of attendees current levels/skills.

Attendees expectations and what they wish to know from the workshop.

How a camera works, types of camera.

How a lens works, types of lenses.

Language of Photography (terminology).

How to hold a camera and lens.

Taking care of the camera and lens.

Basic functions of a camera/memory cards/batteries/flash etc.

Camera parts and controls, and accessories.

Basic composition through the viewfinder.

Practical photo-shoot and evaluation of images.
