COME AND JOIN US!
As the name implies, our membership is drawn from a fairly wide catchment area around Adderbury, Deddington and the surrounding area, including members from Banbury, Chipping Norton, Bicester, Tadmarton, Balscote, Shipston, Aynho, Kings Sutton, Bloxham, and the odd one or two villages in between.The Society meets twice a month, both at 7.30pm, at the Cartwright Hotel, Aynho. The first meeting takes place on the first Wednesday in the month and generally consists of a presentation by an external speaker, or workshop undertaken by members themselves. The second meeting takes place on the third Wednesday in the month, and generally concentrates on members images. It takes the form of an open discussion about either one members images ( normally twenty or so ), or an image or two from each member attending on any subject. Discussion centres around composition, approach, settings, circumstances of shot, and how others might have approached the same subject matter. In other words an open forum with exchange of views, where much can be learnt from seeing how others approach subjects. In addition regular workshops are run within this second meeting in which members can increase their awareness of not only their hardware, but also the techniques to be employed to get the best out of photography. The content normally takes on a more structured course like approach, and whilst starting off very much dealing with the basics, does progress through the various levels (please see the Photographic Development Group page for further details ).
